| So I was watching the late night infomercials and ran upon a new station covering a story about a 9 year old boy who allegedly verbally abused his teacher and kicked her. Anyways the end result was the school locked the boy up in a seclusion room. Basically a concrete room with no furniture windows or even a door handle to get out. Only an X painted on the floor for where the student is supposed to stand. Even worse was they stripped the kid to his underwear and made him stand in there. They then also covered up the window with a cloth on the outside.
Seriously that sounds like a jail cell, actually it sounds worse than a jail cell. But on top of that they stripped the 9 year old to his underwear. Now I'm not a lawyer or anything but I'm pretty sure that could be construed as child molestation. Anyways the kid was in special education classes and has ADHD and another disorder where he acts out against authority figures. (Yea I guess there is a disorder that does that now a days. Just like ADHD could be a result of huge amounts of sugar and artifical preservatives and such in our food). The kid has been struggling for a couple of years since his father was deployed to Iraq. I however still think this is absolutely insane, and have no idea how a logical thinking person who much less is entrusted to teach kids could allow this to happen or even think about it.
Heres the actual article that I googled after watching the story. http://www.c-dh.net/articles/2009/09/20/top_stories/01kid.txt
I can only imagine what that mother and child are going through, the kid is scared shitless to even step near the school now, his mother went to pick him up and they opened the seclusion room. She saw her son standing in the middle stripped to his underwear crying. Seriously you wanna talk about traumatizing.

| I'm giving up processed foods, going to water fruit juices and all around healthy things. I need to to keep my energy up and keep up with my workouts which are absolutely insane. I spend 30-45 minutes in teh gym once a week, lifting the heaviest poundage I can possibly left or even can't lift. If I can't lift it, I sit there and try to until I have nothing left in me.
I'm not there to be your buddy or watch television while I sort of run on the treadmill or what have you. I'm there to put on weight and gain strength, which everyone knows comes from pushing your muscles beyond a certain point so they break down and rebuild bigger and stronger. So whatever idiot thought doing a ton of exercises until you feel a burn is the same thing has to be a total idiot. Anyways I just had my last soda tonight, at least it is now. I'll drink water or fruit juice if I need too and milk of course. But we'll see where I'm at come the end of the year. I've already been putting on pounds like crazy and tons of muscle all with out any weird supplements or chemicals.
Other than that I guess not much to report on. Adjusting to my sleep schedule still which is really rough to do given my hours but I'm managing sort of.
Thats all for now Xanga.

| So this whole health care reform thing has made me sick of politics again. Only because its a constant reminder of how far right the politicians in thsi country really have gone. Old Democrats right up until about the 80's were what I would say could be considered left. There agenda actually consisted of legalizing marijuana and a host of other liberal and progressive ideas. Today you can look at Dennis Kucinich and thats what a real democrat is supposed to be like.
Seriously no one else has noticed that Obama can't pass his health care reform through congress because not enough Democrats support it. No offense but a a real democrat would support a single payer system just like a pro-lifer would be against abortion. Somewhere along the line democrats became the new republicans and the republicans became a right wing corporate sponsorship. When was the last time they went head to head against a corporation or agaisnt something a corporation wanted? They never do, there so wrapped up in corporate america that they now have the problem there at now. There far too right/conservative for most of America.
I mean this healthcare debate went from single payer systems which are a left leaning idea to this public option crap. Suddenly the public option is considered left and doing nothign is right, when in reality the public option is a middle idea and yet the media it seems has decided thats not the case.
Its like drawing a number line from 0-9 and saying 0 is right, 5 is middle and 9 is left. Then you suddenly swap the numbers out and you have 0-5 with say .5 increments and call 5 left and 0 right. Its insane, and its the reason I hate American politics. No one even remembers the old democratic party, today we have moderates and the right wing thats it.
Even more amusing is people calling Obama a socialist or whatever. Obama isn't even a liberal there is no way he could be a socialist. The worst part is polls show that most of this country are ok with a single payer system, how that doesn't get mentioned in the news is frustrating, probably because the polls now ask whether people want a public option or keeping stuff the same.
This is why I didn't vote for Democrats, I always write in someone or if a third party candidate is actually on the ballot I vote for them cause in my mind you have
Republican - Democrat - Progressive Right - Middle - Left
Anyways thats all for now I generally avoid talking politics but lately I've just been getting really irritated so Xanga is here to let the steam loose.

| Sigh, I get a job, start paying all my bills and then the collection agencys rear the little heads again. Seriously I understand that you want me to pay them, I want too as well. But seriously I just make enough money to pay my current bills, much less handle the random freak accident or expense that can often set me back a month or two.
So maybe the best thing to do is to call these people and simply be like, look I've been unemployed for a year, just got a job and I barely make ends meet, I can pay you 50 bucks for now thats it.
Somehow though I doubt that will have much of an impact at all. But its not like I'm not trying to get a 2nd job or something that pays more, but considering the financial times and how many people can barely pay for healthcare these agencies have to be insane to think I mysteriously have more money to give them.
Ok I'm done bitching for now, hopefully they don't take me to court, one of them is actually threatening too, so I gotta call them and hope I get someone who isn't insanely abusive and angry.

| So I've been getting caught up in this whole healthcare reform business on Capital Hill, well more like all over the media as well from the far left to the far right, from the socialists to the Libertarians everyone thinks there way is best.
Then I was thinking the main topics people talk about are we can't afford it, and also that the Government will then control who you can see. Of course lets ignore that 60%+ of bankruptcies in this country are a direct result of medical costs, obviously an indication we can't afford it now for ourselves. Secondly I doubt it would even be an issue but given what happened with the Housing bubble bursting and banks on edge of bankruptcy, theres a group of people who think some government oversight might be a good idea, and there are others who don't want the government involved at all, and if they could would probably pay the bare minimum on taxes (I'm looking at you Libertarians).
Anyways I realized that is it really costs for healthcare going up because the system is broken, or are American's just becoming more and more unhealthy. I mean I'm sure if we banned cigarettes in 5 years the cost of healthcare would drop. If we had a congress that passed a law that stated everyone should run 2 miles or more everyday to maintain a healthy heart, the rates of heart attacks and probably cancer would drop, thus our medical costs would plummet.
But back to Charles Dickens cause I was listening to Glenn Beck and his crazy ideas that we can't afford it, which isn't true if we wanted to we could pay for universal health care as a country, but Glenn Beck just doesn't care about other people. So back To Charles Dickens and the story called "A Christmas Carol"/
Remember Timmy the kid who was on crutches and his family couldn't afford for him to get an operation, and the rich greedy Scrooge at the beginning. Now fast forward to the ending where you have a happy healthy Timmy and family because rich Scrooge decided not to be greedy and spread some of his wealth around. Now we have option A the beginning, and Option B the ending.
Universal Healthcare or atleast a cheap government option would be Option B, where your concern isn't money its the welfare of the patient.
Option A is the system we have now sort of, where your concern is the money and not the patient's well being.
Personally I could careless about the health care system or how much it costs, I haven't been to a doctor since 4th grade and that was far vaccines that were required to go to school. I've never been sick to the point where I needed to go to a doctor, I may get sick once every 1-2 years if I get very little sleep for like a week, but otherwise I'm really healthy, and have spent almost no money on insurance or for healthcare.
The easiest way to reduce healthcare costs, is for Americans to get healthier. Look at the Obesity rates, and Cancer rates in this country and compare them to other countries? Obviously we need to change the way we live if we really wanna reduce healthcare costs.
